“Drive, commitment and specialization are required to add value for our clients”

I am one of the founding Partners of the Screen Group, a provider of boutique software and advisory services for the financial services industry. Prior to this, I worked 4 years as trader in Derivative Products at F. van Lanschot Bankiers, a Dutch Investment Bank, and 5 years for Thomson Reuters.

In both positions I have worked for many Financial services firms (buy and sell side) throughout Europe and have had the opportunity to build knowledge about the use of market information and technology within the industry. This has formed the initial foundation of Screen which was started in 1990. Throughout this period we have seen many companies come and go in our industry, both on the producer (vendors and exchanges) and consumer (banks, asset managers, brokers…) side. Despite these turbulent times, Screen has always been persistent, focused and committed to provide a first class service to our clients. This is fundamental to our company philosophy and the people that work for us embrace this in their day to day work for our clients.

My personal contribution to the company comes from the knowledge I have built in terms of market & reference data, industry benchmarking, cost savings programmes, sourcing support and building market data organizations within an international context.

Screen is not a company that services everyone, but if you believe in our values, we are there to service you!

Evert-Jan ten Brundel
Evert-Jan ten Brundel

Evert-Jan joined Screen in the spring of 2009. He helps financial services firms solve problems in the market data management area, whether this is in line management (“run the bank”), project management (“change the bank”) or interim management.  It often means being the linking pin between the business side and IT: understanding how the business works, what they want to achieve, and what this means for the IT function. His work involves much more than just recording user requirements, managing Requests for Proposals and negotiating vendor contracts:  he builds an in-depth understanding of the bank’s business model, the role of the divisions in it, their need for systems, services and applications, and the budget that is available. Moreover, he knows that it is about managing people’s expectations within those requirements, and getting the best solution for the bank.

Speaking various languages fluently, Evert-Jan sees the whole of Europe as his territory.  During the last two years he has built up several long-standing relationships with banks in Germany and the UK, as well as instrumental contacts with numerous vendor organizations.

Prior to joining Screen, Evert-Jan held positions ranging from customer service, product management, finance management to general management at Thomson Reuters’ Datastream, Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI) and IHS Global Insight.

He holds a BA from HEAO/Windesheim University in Zwolle.

Michel Magnin
Michel Magnin

Michel Magnin, founding partner of Screen SA, has a long experience in Technology and Market Data.

Between 1982 and 1996 I was as IT manager responsible for introducing cutting edge technologies at Banca del Gottardo in Switzerland, to support the business and the banks’ growth expectations. During this period we prepared the bank for the Internet challenges and my team and I participated in many projects related to Reference and Market Data, including building new dealing rooms in Europe.

By founding Screen Consultants SA in 1997, we wanted to extend the services from the Screen Group of companies to Switzerland and Italy. We are convinced that Screen, as one of the few companies in the world, is able to provide, all over Europe, the experience and the professionalism that is associated with Market & Reference Data environments. We also believe that INFOmatch, our proprietary tool to manage market & reference data costs, is the solution that can relieve Market Data Managers from time consuming administrative tasks and ensure that they have more time to analyse business needs.

Screen is a boutique firm, that does not serve everyone, but we are very good at what we do!
