Implementation of a new market and reference data repository

After the merger of two European banks the implementation of a new market and reference data repository didn’t succeed. Because of this it was decided to fall back on Bank B’s repository system to feed applications with static data, corporate actions and pricing data.

However, over time a myriad of applications and sub-applications were fed by this “old hat” system. The bank was missing the complete overview of interfaces, business requirements and subscribers (end users).

At this point Screen Consultants was asked to take over. Main tasks were to bring in market and reference data knowledge, streamline processes, conduct business analysis, document business requirements, create “use cases” for development input, test the new data management solution and its interfaces, stop the “bad press” and bring the project “up to speed” again.

The result after 8 months of hard work: all main subscribers were brought to production, the project team was scaled back to a few members only and the Screen consultants business analysts could step back.
